WELCOME TO malaysia
THE MAGIC OF ASIA
“As the most distinguishable and symbolic landmark of Malaysia, the 88-storey
Petronas Twin Towers claims the title of the ‘17th tallest skyscraper in the world’.
Did you know that the infrastructure includes elements that are truly Malaysian?
The foyer showcases ‘songket’ patterns and floor designs feature ‘pandan weaving’.
Other than enjoying Kuala Lumpur’s skyline at the observation deck,
we can also visit the Skybridge, which connects the two towers.
At the foot of the Petronas Towers, we can find Suria KLCC shopping centre, which boasts a wide variety of shops.
Let’s count how many levels the lift passes - we need to stop at level 6 to do some shopping.
Just to make sure we don’t mix up our numbers and arrive at the wrong floor,
let’s first invite Goh Yee Yang to teach us how to count in Bahasa Melayu!”
“Yay! I’m all ready to shop now!
Since we are in the cosmopolitan city of Kuala Lumpur where there is a plethora of shopping malls,
I want to buy the tour guide a gift, to show appreciation for showing us around Malaysia!
Oh…… guess what? The tour guide just told me that gift giving in Malaysia is usually reserved
between friends and therefore, there was no need to present a gift to thank her.
I guess I should have asked about the gift-giving customs in Malaysia in advance.
Let’s all find out more about this.”
There are lots of interesting trivia about the Petronas Twin Towers.
